'Shared sacrifice': Should Congress cut its pay, benefits?

It shouldn’t be an issue that members of congress collect pension after 20-25 years of service. Numerous government agencies including the military and law enforcement agencies are permitted to collect their pension after 20 years of service. The standard for congress is the same. What should concern American people is that members of congress would be allowed to collect social security benefits before the age of 65. Like the rest of us who are eligible to collect social security at the age of 65 same rule should apply for congress. 
Its important because he’s trying to play with our emotions and when we read this that we should not expect out government to make laws to make us feel better.  It shows that members of congress today are trying to conform to the rules and the standards for the working people.  We should expect to be treated equally as everyone else.
